Makes sense..

I ordered mine today.. not sure what the turn around time is going to be, but I'm sure Ed will get it out as soon as he can..

I'll change it when I get it and see if that makes a magic difference in the issue I'm having.

for what its worth....

i put the new dark blue/gray cps in tonight, replacing the gray one. Truck seems to idle alot smoother and motor is quieter. didn't have a chance to go drive it, but at idle the truck is smooth, no more vibrating truck

Well I got it in yesterday. Seems to run just fine. I honestly can't really tell much of a difference but the main reason I did it was to keep my grey as a spare.

Someone on the dieselstop did some testing with the gray, new dark blue and a black cps with AE. Here is the link: Black, Grey, & Dark Blue Cam Position Sensor Perdels Test - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com

I put in my dark blue CPS a couple days ago then went on a 800km trip with a trailer yesterday with it. My truck starts up quicker, doesnt have the slight miss at idle it used to, and seems to run smoother. It also seemed to pull away from a stop with the load on easier and pull up the hills better. The added performance might be just in my head, but it definitely idles smoother and starts better! Go buy one!

I'm at work but UPS shows my dark blue CPS has been delviered.. however I believe my problem is the pedal sensor.. I actually got a code to show up on Saturday.. The new APS was delivered with the CPS.. So we'll see what happens.. Just didn't want people to think I dissapeared

Does anyone know if the new blue CPS is being released due to an issue with the grey...possibly another recall?

My engine shut off while driving yesterday and would not restart. From all I've read on the forum here I'm betting a CPS failure. I had the recall done back in Dec 2007 to install the grey version. The dealer is already hitting me up for $200 diesel diagnostic charge...when in the end he'll probably swap out the CPS for the new blue version.

I guess I could keep my receipt and in the event there is another recall I can try to get reimbursed. Just wondering if anyone knows why the blue version is being released.

This is my first CPS failure...guess I will need to keep a spare in glovebox like you all mention.
