Eliminate OD Switch?
Did a search, couldn't find anything...
Has anyone come up with a good improvement/mod for the O/D switch? I've just had my second switch fail, and am totally done with the dumb little button on the shifter.
I'd like to install a switch on the dash somewhere, and would be happy to steal someone else's good idea rather than come up with my own.

Are you having problems with the switch itself or the wiring into it.
It should not be to difficult to reroute the wires to another switch on the dash, it just makes for a little bit of a reach every time you need to use it. Even if you have to extend the wires some, should be no big deal. Let us know how it goes.
If it is just the wires, then you should be able to reroute and add a little sleeve in the danger zone for more protection.

Last time it was the wiring; I'm assuming that's what it is again. I tried to wrap it with tape in the area that the first one wore. I haven't pulled it apart, but I'm assuming I'm having a similar problem.
IMHO, it's a bad design, and I'm done with it. Probably won't get to it for a while, b/c it's summertime in AK, and that's when the Ex goes into hibernation. It'll probably be a fall project. Just collecting ideas now.
