Buy the crew cab. Bought my supercab 9 years ago when my boys were 9 and 6. Primarily because not having a backseat I could switch off the airbag and they could ride up front with me. The back seat not only doesn't have much legroom but the back is very straight and not that comfortable. Many times since I have wished I would had bought the crew cab. My youngest is now looking for his own superduty and he won't look at anything but a crew cab. I guess that comes from riding in the back seat for 9 years.
I don't buy a vehicle based on how comfy it is behind me. If someone wants to go with us, they go back there or drive themselves.
Agreed. I grew up riding in the back or a supercab truck; it's not THAT bad.
That being said, when I was looking for my truck, I would have gone for either the super or the crew; the supercab truck was what found me first. I really just needed the option to carry more people in a pinch, 99% of my driving is solo, and sometimes with a passanger.
If I was buying a new truck, and had kids, the crew would defiitely be a consideration.
