METAL TRAYS UNDER CREW CAB SEATS

What the heck are they used for? I have had Super Dutys for a long time now and never found a use for them.

tool boxes sometimes, boxes of stuff all the time. Flat surface makes for a level floor. Not having to worry about grease getting into the carpet.

Makes a great platform for the dogs to ride on too. Drop a couple of non-skid rubber-backed type of bath mats or equivalent on it and the dogs have a good place to lay when I'm out riding around.

One of the first mods I did when I bought my 05 was to remove the tray, now I have room under the rear seat to store things!

I was just curious. I found one of those under seat storage boxes but you have to remove the trays. I can say, they only time I have touched the metal trsyd is when I am cleaning the truck

I have a friend with an '04 K/R that had one from the factory. I took the one out of my '08 the day I brought it home. I installed a Du-Ha bin and now have something useful under there. I am really surprised that there are some people that actually like that platform thing.

I agree that they are expensive, but the underseat one was well worth it IMO. It is perfect in appearance and fit. If it didn't have their name on it no one would know it wasn't factory. It is very rigid and most likely not your "run of the mill" plastic. If you need storage for small stuff it is well worth it. I bought the "behind the seat" box as well. The quality is the same, but the fit wasn't, and for a skinny rectangular box I thought it was overpriced.
