Well, I'd go with the diesel... to tell you the truth, I may suffer at the pump, but my diesel's been good to me and they way it tows makes it all the more better. I like how it pulls great at the lower end instead of screaming like the gassers do. The V10 may be a bit different, but I still prefer my diesel.

Question: did you ever consider a low-miles 7.3L? The 7.3L is bomb-proof, runs forever, and is simple enough for most of us to work on... but it has the perks of computer brains as well. Plus, you can mod a 7.3L out to be as hot, if not hotter, than the 6.0L's and the 6.4L's. You're gonna have to be willing to go several states away to get it though... my 7.3L has over 290K and is still running strong! I just got back from a 2.5hr trip hauling 3000lbs of feed in the bed of my truck. It held 70MPH ALL the way home like it was no big deal.

On another note, the 6.4L is an awesome truck too. My dad has one... yeah, the mileage stinks because of the EPA regulations, but that thing moves and pulls like a champ. VERY nice truck! My dad's had it for 60K and hasn't had one stinkin' problem with it.

To sum it up IMHO... the diesels cost more to own and run, but the way they pull pays for it hands down. I've got a hunch the V10 guys are gonna swarm me here...

I wondered if you wouldn't be the first to jump on me... IDK man, it may pull harder, but I'd like to see a V10 run as long as our PSD's will!

They should. There is a 5.4 ( same motor, two less cylinders) thats has 1,150,000 miles. The guys says He has to add a quart of oil every time he stops for gas.
Mine only has 170,000 now so we will have to wait and see.

 

Yeah, I'm talking about NO broken componets or patches and NO major oil usage. So far, I've still got ya beat, Bill! F350-6 has got 312K... that's incredible!

 

Well im the proud new owner of a XLT F-250 6.4 Diesel Truck all white crew cab i drove it and the 06 lariate they had and i kept going back to the 08 man what a big difference in power. I took the 08 out and jumped on it not expecting much certainly not like my 01 5.4 F150 but man i **** and get ok so no leather and no cool buttons on my steering wheel but its got that really cool front clip It was a rental vehicle in MO well all wish me luck ill be driving the long way home tonight
