I'm not under the hoods of these trucks to know what's what...are your vac pumps belt driven?? I ask because a year ago I ordered a electric pump for my SD and they sent me a belt drive..I never took time to send it back..it was 110 bucks for this thing..if yours are belt driven and you can find me a good used electric pump ill trade with you....
I don't think I've ever seen you over here before, I see that you've been here for awhile but I usually only see you on PSN. As for the vac pump, yes ours are driven off the serpentine belt. But as for the electric pump in trade I don't know anything about them so I'm not your guy, I thought the SD's were all hydroboost.
good to see ya chase...brakes are run off of hydro but my heater switch wont switch off of defrost. thats run off of vacume...my 4x4 is lever action so thats no big dealll but would be nice to have A/C....
fox racing
did we chat email about one of my cabins?? i spend most of my time in the 99-03 7.3 forum...
SD's are hydroboost, so I think there is more to is than just swapping the vac pump for an electric one. Strokersace would be the one to ask Ron.
Chase is right, I just did a full SD conversion into an OBS. Hydroboost, electric vacuum pump, etc. If you pop my hood, you'll see a SD motor, accessories, and brake unit wrapped in OBS trimmings.
As said before the OBS stock vacuum pump is belt driven and the SD are electric. It's easy as pie to put electric vacuum in an OBS, just requires you to wire the pump plug into 'keyon' hot and ground. The problem is that the electric pump doesn't provide enough vacuum to run the vacuum booster brakes. It's really only designed for the heater controls and the electronic shift on the fly 4x4 hubs. To do a proper conversion into an OBS, you need to swap in the hydroboost as well. But then you need to either omit the belt driven pump and replace it with another pulley, or figure out what size of smaller belt you'd need.
i was hopeing some one here needed a pump and had a electric one kicking around they would swap...i guess ill just list in the clasifieds and see what that gets me....thanks guy's...

Yes it'd work in your pickup just fine. The belt driven mechanical pumps were on all 94.5-97 psd's.
Thanks my friend.
