Guys, I had a '55 ford customline all shaved, nosed, decked, custom interior, lowered and whatnot. I got lots of looks from girls and even was told the car was..............CUTE!!! My face got all red; not from embarrassment but from rage, haha. and the thing was painted....turquoise.
I disagree. Mine's Turquoise. In the 10+ years I've owned the truck, I can count on one hand he number of women who have said anything about it - good or bad (Who are not family). It is by far more popular with guys.
I'm telling you, VW Bus.
You could paint a 50 model Hudson turquoise and I doubt any woman or man for that matter would comment on it except to say it was ugly. It all depends on the total package. I an not saying your truck is ugly by any means and never having seen your truck it would not be right for me to make a comment about it but the whole thing has to have appeal. The tires and wheels, the stance, it all has to work together. I have a N series Ford truck that is Caribbean turquoise and at a large show last year it won the ladies choice award and its an 18 wheeler truck.
I suppose. You've probably seen mine somewhere. It is two tone, white and Caribbean Turquoise. Maybe that kills it?? It's also unfinished. I get lots of good comments from guys. Maybe the ladies are only interested in finished products??
At shows, people in general show very little interest because it's not as shiny as the vehicles next to it. They see what has not been finished and don't stop to check out the details.
Whatever the reason, it is not a chick magnet as it is.
Charlie, you hit the nail on the head. Women like the finsished product. They like bling and sparkle. Remember the old saying? Diamonds are a girls best friend. That applies to trucks and cars too. I can assure you if your truck was finished and shiny and combine that with the natural good looks of the Uni, the women would be complimenting it. The difference between men and women are the men see a lot of potential in your truck and can picture in their mind the finished product whereas women see an unfinished vehicle and do not invision what it will look like when it is finished.
I have had so many ol fords I loose count.I had a 65 f250 during high school and college and after.I would have to say it was a big work in progress.
But I assure you on 2nd st in Nashville and back here @ home I never had any problems.Just throw out the ol' trout line and reeel the ladies in!
My wife loves my 64 f250 that I am working on.She has vision and knows my abilities so I guess she is not just someone off the street. So no not everything has to have shiny paint.Flat is where it is at.
And YES VW Vans ROCK!! I grew up in 2 different ones my parents had when I was much younger. So say what you want but I will have one in my shop with all my other Ford products someday.
Charlie, contrast the trucks to houses. A woman can see an old house and invision just how it will look when it is finished, whereas most men aren't as good at it unless may be there gay man. A woman can look at an empty house and have it decorated in their minds eye in seconds, most men can't, but a man can see an old truck out in the weeds and his mind will be going crazy will all the things he can do to that truck to make if look good. However some of us are wired a little different. I was never good at home decorating, so I leave that to my sisters good taste and trust me every time she comes over she tells me what I need to do. I am more like you guys, I can see an old truck and I know what it will take to make it look good. I guess its the tom boy in me.
Charlie, one more thing about dogs. While women loves those diamonds, have you ever seen a woman that was not a sucker for a cute little puppy? We love dogs and cats too.
I can see the potential in a house. I've never met a man who was not a sucker for a cute little puppy. In my opinion, if you're not a sucker for a puppy you're not human.
But I've heard many women say diamonds are there best friends and to that, I say whatever floats your boat.
