Driving my f-250 home from work today, I pulled onto the highway got up to speed and looked at my speedo and it was registering 75mph when I knew from my rpm's that I was about 60. Pulled out the tomtom and confirmed that it was reading about 15 mph high. Stopped teh truck and the speedo didn't return to zero...it stopped at about 13. Truck is normally about 3 mph high at 60 so that explains the 15. Shut the truck off and restarted still same. Went to sears to pickup my new toolboxes and when I pulled out of there I noticed it was working fine again.
BTW I also confirmed that my odometer was still functioning properly with the tomtom over the course of 10 miles, so it seems to be only speedometer related.
Update: It was steady yeserday. Today I had to take a buisness trip and clocked 550 miles on the truck. Twice the cruise control kicked out and i watced the speedo drop to zero then cme right back up. Abs light came on then cleared after a restart and a little bit of driving.
Odometer stayed exactly correct. No more offset at all. Rear ABS Speed sensor? of VSS?
Well it rained this weekend but the first sign of it happened on nice war sunny day. Live in northern ky so yes there was a large amount of rain last weekend...floods all over...but has been sunny ever since.
