Chain, ratchet straps, cheap ratchet set, adjustable wrench, vise grips, axe, sledge, spade, screwdrivers, bottle jack, blocks... that's about it for me, unless I've got something specific to do.

Enough tools to install a Time-sert after a popped-out sparkplug.

I have a small tool box with basic ratchet/sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. I also carry a tow rope, 4-way lug wrench, tie down straps, fix-a-flat and jumper cables. As for non-tools, don't forget gloves, rain jacket, tarp and the all important TOILET PAPER and BABY WIPES!!

A 1911, two clips, and a dip cup....

High viz wear, just a Carhartt tshirt, a sweatshirt, and a pair of rain bibs with reflective tape on them. And everything ya'll mentioned, but not just a bottle jack for my truck, also a 3 ton floor jack for cars, and 3 jack stands (2, 6 and 6 ton). I have a bunch of $8 saddle blankets in there too, they're always handy for something.

Most of the stuff mentioned along with a decent first aid kit, a shovel or two, 2 ton comealong and some recovery gear(shackles, straps, etc.) and usually some food and drink type stuff(jerky, trail mix, soda, gatoraid, etc.) that usually lasts until the kids climb in.... I also have 1 7/8" and 2" trailer ***** on seperate hitches(you can use one on a stuck vehicle's receiver hitch for a recovery point while you have the other on your truck) with pins for both.
