Hey no one said DUCT TAPE.... you can pretty much use that to fix anything

Thanks for all the input guys its really helped. Ive been my family's roadside repair lately. im up to a Craftsmen tool kit, misc screw drivers and pliers, duct tape, tons of tie downs and a cordless impact with sockets. anyone know were to get a decent set of jumper cables, all the ones i see are cheap garbage.

no actually a bunch o hand tools, socket set, hammer, wire, rope, tow straps, ratchet straps, and then a bunch of landscaping equipment too.

My dad actually made his own set... he took some HEAVY single-O stranded cables (they're the soft, flexible kind) and a couple of HD connectors and ran a short leg from the battery terminals to a connector on the inside of the bumper. He has about 20 or so feet of cable that has the opposite gender connector on one end and clamps on the other end. With his setup, you don't have the risk of shorting the clamps as long as the clamps are first clamped to the vehicle that needs jumping before you plug the cable into the thruck, you don't have to pop the hood to jump it, and it saves your truck's terminals from getting all torn up over the years. I like it and want to make my own set one of these days.

huh. that sounds like an good idea. also a good way to get 12v power for something like a big power inverter.
