How did the sensor look when you removed it? Did it have small particles of metal shavings or metal dust coating the magnet. If so, what is in your differential lube probably has covered the new sensor. Try removing the new one and taking a look to see if the magnet is clean. If it is not, clean it and replace your diff lube. (the metal dust is normal over a period of time so don't panic)
