Late 93turbo,spedo jumps

I have a Late 93 F350 with factory turbo. my cruse control does not work and the spedo jumps around. the spedo is all electric as is the cruse control. i have not been able to find the speed sensor or any books that can help me locate or trouble shoot this problem. any help would be great, Thanks

i'm pretty sure the speed sensor is right on top of the rear axle retty much in the center. there is a little wire going to this. i'm guessing it is a standard because usually the auto's have big problems when the speed sensor goes out or starts doing what yours is doing. hope this helps.

I've got a 94 Turbo IDI. Mine did the same thing not long ago. It was also accompanied by hard shifts too. It sounds like the Speed sensor. The speed sensor is pretty much in the center of the rear diffy. Also, recommend changing rear axle lube. The speed sensor is magnetized and the small metal particles in the old lube tend to be hard on the sensor.
Good Luck.

PS. The sensor is only about $30 - $40 bucks

Try just cleaning the sensor off first, as it may just have the metal particles attached to it, since it is a magnet. That throws off the readings it gets. I agree fully with the fluid change as well/

I took the time to drain the fluid and clean things up. The sensor had a small dent in the case so I opted to replace it. Cost was just less than 30 bucks for a new one. Back on the road and no change. I have also taken the spedo out of the dash and cleaned the connections to no change. Any other ideas or could this just be a bad spedo? The truck does have a bit over 200k on it.
