Which oil filter BASE fits?

I am trying to make a filtering system and I want to try to use oil filters, but I cant find the correct base. Is there a site I can cross reference them?

I am using NAPA 1607 filters, does anyone know what base will fit this filter?

Of course, many of us have.

Unfortunately I'm on the road and not at my home office where the majority of the bookmarks are, where I'd have it on the tip on my mouse.

However, the most common is the base for a PH-8A Fram, which is a 3/4" x 16 thread, and will fit a whole host of filters.

Thanks Pop,

The filter says thread size 1-16, I assume 1" x 16 thread?

Pop,

The filter is 1 - 16. Looks like most Doge Cummins use this type, but I can not find a filter base for it, do you, or anyone else, know where I can find a base with 1 - 16 thread stud?

Thank you.

Dunno. I've never used that size.

I don't recall a Baldwin base of that size/thread.

Why are you locked into using this filter? Got lots of 'em?

Just because they are large and cheap. I could use filters that would fit the baldwin base that I have, 1 - 14. Just need to find large cheap oil filters that fit it.

Funny, Pop. My 64 Falcon uses the PH8A and so do the CNC mills in the shop I used to work in.

As I said, it's a VERY common filter size, and it's characteristics are why I used it both for my external transmission filtration, and my hydraulic (power steering) system.

Now that we know DemonRace's application, I'd say that this size is inappropriate for him to use.

Try a Fram P3376. Thread size 1 -14. It's a FUEL filter for a CAT, and there are many equivalents including the WIX 33384.

Look here for cheap ones:
FilterBarn

Currently, their cheapest available is a Luberfiner at $5.41 each, and they have 99 of 'em. Cheap enough?

Hope that helps.

And they'll fit the base you already have.

Keep us posted on how it works out for you.

Brewing your own, I presume?
