I bought my truck from MA (2.5 hours away) and ran into a similar issue. The dealer I was working with was nice enough to supply me with a bill of sale prior to the finalization of the sale. Its not an overly legal document anyways. I doubt they would have an issue mailing you one. Have you asked? Since there is no inspection these days, just request real plates. No reason to waste your money on temps.

hello everybody!

tim- they are going to need to do a VIN verification on the truck at DMV because it was reg'd out of state, so you will need temps. i would just insure it and run it with no plate. definitely do not use a different plate, thats a big deal. if you get caught with no plate its just driving an unregistered vehicle, and as long as its insured they probably arent going to stop you from driving, just give you a ticket for $78. try what greg suggested, and you may be able to get your temps. or if the dealer wont give you an unofficial bill of sale, i bet you could make on yourself.

Maybe I had temp plates, but I could have sworn they were metal ones. Who knows, it has been 2 years now and my memory is definitely crap.

Ah the woes of dealing with the DMV. What a lovely place that is. So many friendly people working! I just can't stand the excitement of it all
