If you jack up the front, and put stands under the frame, then remove the tire and unbolt the shock and upper spring retainer, you can let the I-beam down far enough to easily move it forward enough to replace those bushings. Tip, use a jack with wheels under the I-beam, and it's real easy to move the i-beam fore-aft.
Without unhooking one of the shock and spring, it's a major hassle to move the I-beam far enough to get those bushings out.......

Thanks Rogue, I'll try that next month when I get back from camping and have some time to let the truck sit for a while.
On a side note, I have collected the rest of the bushings (except for the body mount bushings), and I'm going to have to do those as well.

my current mpg.. 7 with my 302 aod. HORRIBLE...

I keep getting pretty bad mpg so I decided to top off and drive to the shop and then top off again... I put 24 miles and it took 3.4 gallons to fill back up. OUCH. I'm going broke driving. 80% highway doing 60-70mph, a/c off vent window open.

Awesome, I remember those days!

Sure was hoping it would mean they would move out ... NOT!
Finally had to use the foot on one.

Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and am proud of them, but it's time to fly, It's time for momma and pappa to play!

-Enjoy

LOL, I gave momma the boot a few years ago. The boy lives with me, and his sister lives in the other 1/2 of our duplex.

Well, I ain't ready to boot momma, though she may be ready to boot me ... Especially if I don't get this freaking house livable again, but thats close, got our OC day before yesterday... WOOHOO it only took 1943 days! We'll be in before June 1st.

In my family we got suitcases for either our 18th birthday or HS graduation whichever happened last.

I didn't get anything for my 18th birthday, I went to work. After graduation I went into boot camp.

On another topic. I've been selling cars for awhile but it seems peoples priorities have changed or I'm losing my mind. But most everyone that comes and looks at our cars seems to want a mint condition low mileage vehicle that's over 20 years old for less than $1000. They lose interest if it leaks a little oil or makes a squeak or has a couple of scratches or dings in it. I almost never sell anything for over $2000 and they are running driving cars with some minor issues and are usually 20 years old or older. I never go by book price as that is just insane, no one in their right mind pays those prices. I usually ask half to two-thirds of what I got into something. Today a guy told me I was crazy asking $1000 for an 85 mustang convertible that runs and drives and has no rust holes and everything works, and has new tires and shocks and battery and some other things. He said I wasted his time making him come look at a piece of junk. I'm not sure if it's just an economy thing, or if there is something in the water. Guess I'll wait and see what happens, got so much stuff to sell this summer, liquidation sale in September or October I guess.

Sorry, I wouldn't give you $1000 for a 85 Mustang either, even if it was perfect and stored all it's life ... But thats because I HATE THEM!!!!

Nothing personal!

Festus I wouldn't pay that either I hate convertibles. And I've never had a decent ford from about 80 or newer. (Fairmonts and Zephyrs weren't that great either) According to nada the mustang is worth about $2200, I laughed when I saw that. It was taken as partial trade for work performed and then I threw a few new things on it to help it sell. I gotta stop taking cars as partial payment for my work, it never works out. But I love cars so much, I can't resist the urge.
