anyone know of a set of used injectors that may be for sale by your friends. I'd like to get a set if possible. thanks ...Joe
Technically speaking more often then not injectors that have been modified to flow 175-190 cc are going to be used as it is. Also I don't know what other mods your planning on running, but when you go bigger with injectors the whole ball game changes on what other mods you should do to support those injectors.
going with new:
arp studs/gasket
sct tuner
mbrp 4" turbo back
dougs gogo manifold
upgrading fuel and coolant line/pumps
egr delete
bulldog dampner
looking into the garret upgraded turbo as well
Stock HPOP is fine for all but the largest 6.0l injectors.

No reason to upgrade anything in the electrical system for injectors.

Might as well call up Bosch and see if they can just sell you a common rail upgrade kit.
No such thing.

and of coarse looking into the injectors
anything else you suggest?
Your wish list looks pretty good. Do you not have a tuner now? Is this a street truck or something that will have to tow? If you plan to tow anything with 190's you'll need a better than stock turbo. Even an AM stock replacement will get toasty on the street with 190's, never mind towing. 175's won't be as bad. Do you have gauges?
Save some money for a tranny if you're gonna hammer on it.
Get the studs, EGR delete, gauges, exhaust, and fuel pump done. Run a tuner with some strong tunes and then decide if you want injectors. From stock to heavily tuned is the single largest performance gain you'll see until you get big injectors, and compounds or a lot of nitrous. My $.02
Do you have a performance goal?
$2800 for the tranny isn't a bad deal. If I wasn't on the other side of the country I'd have Doug do mine.
Is the Garrett upgrade enough to match the injectors?
Way more than enough to match the injectors.....especially with the correct tuning as long as the tuner knows. It has a little slower spool but the MAP is matched better than earlier versions of this turbo that have been offered by the aftermarket
programmer/gauges is either livewire or sct/dash daq
Don't do the LiveWire. I have yet to hear of a definitive fix for the screen issue. It's 50/50 on if you will have the problem or not, but I would go with try and true X3.

What specifically does he upgrade, do you know?

That should work. It might take the tuner awhile to get the tunes just right. Some of these bigger turbos have "dead spots" in them were it's a bear to drive down the road with, but that's mainly a tuning issue.
