Is there a set of marine injectors for our motors. I know of DPS. I herad they were a sloppy injector. I know they make marine injectors for chevy 6.2 and 6.5. Do yall know if they make them for 6.9 7.3?
I doubt, I've never heard of these engines being made for marine use, however, you can have injectors built different ways at an injection shop, just get them to match how the 6.2 injectors are built.
Marine injectors aren't any thing special they useualy deliver more fule as higher horsepower is required in marine engines.
I don't know if you can get them. But there were a few companies that built 6.9s for marine aplications they were basicly 6.9 short blocks with custome heads turbos injectors and IPs, from what I understand.
But thees companies have all either went out of buisness or quit producing thees because they simply would not last long in these aplications.
A good injection shop could probly make you some custom injectors, and definately do all kinds of stuff with the IP.
We havew a user that used to be in here a lot, Wellcraft was his handle.
I am thinking from Iceland.
He had a fishing boat with twin 7.3 turbo's in it.
Marine engines usually put out a lot more HP, but that can be a good and bad thing.
Bad number one is the engine heat, boats either use water to water heat exchangers or water from outside the hull for cooling.
A body of water can take a lot more heat out of the engine than any radiator you could ever install in your truck.
Back in the IDI days, there were no emission regulations for boats.
Do a search for all posts by Wellcraft, I think I remember he posted where he was getting parts from, I think it was in Chicago.
I am running DPS Stage 1 injectors, I have no complaints.
