Looks to me like ultimately it doesn't matter. Stu
Tee hee that's very true. Because chances are the 5 or 6 people who are having this discussion are probably some of a dozen in the world who may know all these differences any way. And if I ever see one of your trucks, and it's a 52 and you have one of fifty-two_F1s spanky new buttons, I promise not to tell any one.
And I think your right, I think there was a lot of intermixing on these heater - and the parts - between the two years.
What I'd like to do is find a 51 Magic Aire Sales Brochure and compare it to my 52 Brochure! I've never seen them other than the one I have.
Stopped by the CNC place today .Mike said I would need to sell quite a few ( alot ) just to break even .So will not pursue that process any farther , however he said he could laser etch the Magic Air in one for $4.00 So when I do get some from the emblem maker I will have that done . Then rub in some acylic paint to match the color . It will stay in the valleys of the etch just as it does when I etch & color glass or mirror .
So will leave the emblem making up two fifty-two_f1 . Took the inside profile of the e-brake cable boot to him today also . Will have some made soon .
Jordan , please send PM for details on the emblems . Be careful trying to do commerce on the forum site . You may get spanked . Have fun at the Nat's , I did in '06 & '08 . Plenty of trucks to see & things to learn . Best to not take alot of $$ with you .
That is correct oh great posting princess . This should be on another thread about the Magic Air heaters but since you are on here will tell about another Magic air heater item restored .Some of the doors with the felt seal on in the intake portion of the heaters have been wasted, rotted ,or what have you .Acquired some felt the correct color , durometer ( hardness ) , thickness and all those correct things . Cut out a piece using an old one for a template . Secured it to the 2 pc. door with some rivets in the correct position and installed it in the small intake duct case . Came out just right . Will post a pic fri . Also had the last two 3" www Coker Classic tube tires mounted up wed. They look so good with the trim rings and small caps . Did all the small caps have the FORD painted blue or were some red ? Another question . Were the tail lamp brackets painted body color or were they black on an original truck . Am trying to make the stock truck as original as possible .Have tried searching the web & this site for some pics of original trucks but the brackets are tucked so tight and not much shows .
But Denny, please do me a favor and start a new thread about the felts so I can save it and we can refer folks to it separately rather than try and remember which thread it is burried in. This stuff is all very valuable and to be able to save specific items and post the links for folks is really helpful!
Hey I've got an even better idea!
Did you see my "Wiring 101?" (OK fell a sleep after page one). Maybe we need to write up a "Magic Air 101" with all this stuff in it! It would be a step by step restoration walk through!

I'd like to see a Magic Air 101. To take the idea further, perhaps several people can write up similar "101s" about pieces that they restored and a "book" type full of these could be published??
Well that might be easier done than said. When I did Wiring 101 I typed it in sections then posted.
It seems like the writing has all been done already in the 4 threads that have gone around. Maybe to take that info, compile it, and then edit it down to a Magic Air 101 would be a worthwhile project. Then the "people in the know (Denny, BOR, etc., could review it and add/delete as necessary to make a MS Word Document - complete with applicable pictures. Wadayathink?
