I finally got that thing installed and the piping all hooked up. Yay, right? Well, not so much. I lost the ferrel for my new boost gauge AND, the batteries are dead! Nuts. I should be able to get the ferrel in town tomorrow, but we've got 40-50 mph winds and now the rain is starting, so I'll think about boosting it on Friday when I've got some time. Once I've got her all up and running, I'll post some pics.
good job man. hate to hear ya lost the ferral for the boost guage though. sucks more that your batteries are dead. How long did it take to get it all done??
Well, the actual work wasn't too bad. It was all the trying to find the right pieces and getting the piping all fabbed up. I'm still short 3 t-bar clamps, but I should be able to pick them up Friday. There's still one piece I'd like to replace. As for the batteries, it's probably time they were replaced anyway. I got the IC itself form TJ almost 2 years ago. It's been a slow process. Total hours of actual work on the install? Maybe 12-15 ish. Kinda hard to say.
Rider, I got some old piping from Clay. and the final elbow from some old exhaust piping that I had lying around. That's the elbow that I'll be replacing someday. I hear ya about the expensive elbows. Up here the elbows would have been $45, but I got a discount through work. I tried it, but it was way to wide an arch to finish what I needed. It's not the prettiest install, but it 'should' work. Oh, I also got my Bushwacker cutouts on the other day.
Cool! I got my IC in and now just trying to put some time together to do the piping. I'm gonna finally pull the trigger and order the pyrometer on Monday. I want to see befor and after on EGT's. What's a T-bar clamp?
The old style ones dont apply even pressure all around the clamp how they work and tend to "pull" whatever they are around, instead of clamping all around.
