vacuum line??

got the truck running yesterday now i need help with the vacuum lines. on the back of the motor next to the oil pressure gauge their is a vacuum tree into the intake. one line is for the transmission was is all new, then the big one is for the brake booster needs new hose and then there is one open one that i know something goes there but i cant remember what. i have a small line through the fire wall which is i think the heater controls but its way to small to go on the tree what goes there?? i looked everywhere else and cant find anything. my valve covers had k&n breathers in them so its not that. ill take a pic tomorrow for more detailed description

well it can go "anywhere" which is why no one has said anything. you obviously have auto trans so that is what one will go to. as you stated that it might be on the heater controls. in the old trucks some had vac hold off for the controls. it could have also been for a internal gauge. so what I would do is

hook the heater controls up to the tree
cap off the tree till you find something that isnt working

you have the important tranny and booster hooked up there isnt much more then that. unless you are still running emissions controls... cruise control ...gauges if you have any of that they also need hooked up.

did you get your vacuum advance (front carb or tree hook up normally but everything is unique typically after people hack them up)

the only "important" controls to have connected are the break boost and tranny... you dont need the rest of it on the system and I recommend pulling it off to save pressure for the important areas.

thanks the vacuum advanced is hooked to the front of the carb, i have one line from the heater control and another that went to that vacuum ball thing on the fender. i took all the ac / heat box off the fire wall and now im trying to mount a heat only box. im also taking all the old ac / heat control out and putting the heat only stuff i got from a donor truck so i should only have one to hook up the the tree. thanks allot

Heres the diagram that was posted a lot around here. Sounds like your truck was screwed with a bit by the PO.
