How about mount the camera to the left of the hitch? Opposite of the plug. Is there a license plate adapter?
Left of the hitch may work. The camera came with wings that attach to the license plate screws but that would mean drilling into the liftgate and running the wire to the top of the gate and out the top of the gate into the upper door jam and then down the pillar into the reverse light assembly. I was trying to avoid all that but it's still a possiblilty.

I would do something next to the hitch then.

I'm thinking super-Velcro mounting and a plug set set for the rear with all the crap we get on the back in Ohio winters. No point in having the camera out in the weather 24/7 when we only use the trailer a few weekends a year.

I do like this idea and camera position, though, and a buddy with a ProPride hitch will probably like it more as he needs something like 1/4" tolerance to hook up.

We have 2 young daughters so having the camera on 24/7 is a little bit of piece of mind when backing in the driveway etc. You still need your mirrors but it gives a quick view of the big blind spot under the back window. Easy to see a bike, kid or shopping cart etc. When camping we always have a bunch of kids and toys around so it will nice going in and of the campsites also. We will have to see how winter goes here in CT but I believe you can get a replacement camera for about $20 on EBAY so I'm not to worried about it.

It was refreshing backing up to the camper with one try yesterday instead of getting in and out checking where you are. I did get out once just to check as it takes a little bit to get used to the camera perspective.

There are some more expensive cameras out there that may work better but for what we need it works.
