Ignition wiring help

I just got through dropping a 351 Windsor back in my 84 F250, and I had a Mallory HyFire ignition set laying around...so I am wondering where I might find a wiring diagram to help me put this system together. Tried figuring it out on my own, but to no avail. I'm pretty sure my box is an old 6a (if not, idk what it is) but it doesn't have wires coming out of the side of the box, it just has screws with removable wires. Got it at a swap meet a few years back and figured it's not doing me any good setting around, so I may as well get the good out of it. Thx in advance for any and all advice and pointers.

You will have to figure out the model ignition you have. I would search high and low, and possibly go to Mallory's site or call them. To my knowledge, "6a" is a MSD box. I am not sure Mallory had a 6a box.

I checked mallorys site, they have a 6a, 6al, and 6al2 boxes. I thought it was just msd, too. My box could also be old enough that it's isn't that model.

Well, I can't find anything on my box. I did find a diagram from Mallory on how to wire the distributor up without the hyfire box. I'm having trouble figuring out what wire(s) go to the positive side of the stock coil (dropped the engine in with no wiring on it whatsoever, so I'm sorta shootin blind).

The diagram I got says that the only thing I need from the stock harness is the wire(s) from the (+) side of the coil...so how does the stock box plug into all of this?

The stock Ford box had it's own wires on the fender. They had a separate wire on the engine for the coil +. It's usually red/green or white/blue, and is a special resistance wire.

So then, would it be ok to "disconnect" said wire and run it straight to the coil? Or is there a more "proffessional" way to do it without potentially screwing something up? Sorry, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to wires, and it gets worse when I don't have pictures lol...
