I have see some transmission filter that mount on transmission lines. Are they good to have it?
Anyone use transmission filter on line?
I was consider to buy one for my 95 F250 since I want transmission last longer.
Toss a can of Transtune in w/ the fluid. Put 50+ miles on it, drain it (including converter), new filter & switch to synthetic tranny fluid.http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/fil...rans_temps.gif Temperature is the biggest deal breaker w/ a tranny. The Transtune treatment, then synthetic switch will drop your tranny temp. 12 degrees or more plus other benefits!
External transmission filter is always a good idea, they actually sell these kits that look like a big engine oil filter but you run it inline for your transmission.

Where that? I have see lot AT&T ford van come with them. How much they go for?
Summit Racing has them, also Jegs, IIRC they were about $50 for the whole kit. I was actually talking about the synthetic ATF price that you won't like, the filter kits are rater reasonable.

Pay a little more now, or pay a lot more later. I'd rather pay a little more to avoid a Transmission overhaul, they're never the same.
Yeah, there is that. But IMHO any fancy ATF is a waste of effort if there ain't a nice big cooler added to the system, the factory one is pathetic to say the least - I actually use my air conditioning condenser as a trans cooler, it don't get larger than that

That's easily agreeable to. 20 degrees above norm. op. temp. over a period of time, will cost you 50% of the transmission life. Regardless of
fluid choice. However Synth. fluids don't degrade as quickly when exposed to thermal flux or wick & carry nearly the amount of moisture that then turns acidic. Better thermal transfer properties also! http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/fil...rans_temps.gif
