P0371 Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses

could this have had anything to do with my edge evolution? i bumped up the timing but only like .5 or 1 deg. i run it on level 2 and use only 89 oct. they say level 2 is based on 89. it only came up one time on the edge memory and has not returned. the check engine light never came on or was on and off very fast. should i lower my timing or is that not the problem at all?

If it happened right after you bumped up the timing, it could have been the result of not enough octane because you still had 87 octane in the system or tank. I would leave it where it's at if you have been running with no problems on 89 octane. Usually before I bump up timing I'll put in some 92 or 93 octane gas and run it for a few days before advancing timing. If you're towing, I'd run 92 octane or above on level 2.

no i ran 89 oct for like 10 or 15 tanks before bumping the timing change. i run level 2 all the time and a couple of weeks ago i changed the timming but i never checked the code until a couple of days ago so maybe it came up as soon as i changed the timing but it had not seen 87 in months and i did run 93 when i first got the edge evolution for 4 or 5 tanks

It may be possible, but I've not seen it personally.
