Drive Train Questions...
I have been told there are similarities between the 5 speed manual tranny used in the Explorer Sports and Ranger 4WDs and the transmission I have in a T-Bird Super Coupe. I want to adapt the shifter and transfer case to the SC tranny for use in another project that is going to be 4WD so I can use the SC drive train. The SC shifter is too far back on the tranny for my project. I would really appreciate ant info regarding this matter.

In a search I found this title on a post at SCCoA, "Ford Thunderbird SC Cougar M5R2 Transmission". If the SC you have uses the M5R2 then, yes, the Explorer also uses the M5R2. Also in:'88-'96 F150s.
