Parts for a 99 Ranger SAS - 2wd to 4wd.
I have a 99 2wd sc Ranger that I can use as a project truck.
What transfer case is used that will mate with the auto tranny in the truck.
What front end would be better. TTB dana 35 or an early Bronco dana 44 and 9 inch.
I would problably stick to 33 inch max tires, just to take it easy on the 3.0 engine.
I just want to start getting parts together before I can't find old bronco parts.

Your easiest 4x4 conversion will be doing the SAS, the TTB stuff won't work unless you want to spend years on tuning it to get it to work under a different frame. If you are sure you won't see bigger than 33's a Jeep Dana 30 is the way to go. The width is good, bolt pattern is the same and you can even use a Jeep long arm kit to help you install it. You will either have to replace your 2wd trans with a 4x4 trans and t-case or install an older divorced t-case behind your 2wd trans. If you are going bigger than 33's you might want a D44 from the above mentioned but you will have to change the bolt pattern and unless you narrow it change the rear axle as well.
