I noticed this Little Bitty Cooler in front of my Radiator......Is THIS ALL that cools the Tranny or does The fluid flo first thru the radiator ?
Secondly.......What After Market Cooler have you had the best luck with.....And Whats a Good Easy to hook up Transmission Temperature Gauge to Buy ?

Thanks Guy's ..............
Most 7.3 guys tend to put in a 6.0 tranny cooler. Those are really stout. As to what gauge is the easiest, I think they are all "six in one and half a dozen in the other". I don't know if the 7.3s have a PID in their computer for TFT, I know the 6.0s do. You might be able to just hook up a digital OBDII monitor like the Edge Insight or the DashDAQ and get your TFT that way. If TFT is monitored by the truck's computer. I never did any of this with my old 7.3, so I don't know and my knowing now is rather moot, so I never did find out, sorry about that.

TFT is monitored by the PCM and can be seen through an OBD plug-in gauge such as the Scangauge or Edge Insight.
I've used my ScanGauge to monitor transmission temps on my '08 F250(PSD/5R110), my '07 F150(5.4L/4R75E), an '06 F-250(PSD, 5R110) and a 2000 F250(V10/4R100).
Yeah, you have to carefully look between the condenser and the radiator for the factory cooler. YOu will find a thread where I swear there isn't one on my truck because I just couldn't see it.

LOL, yep its rather well hiden. Easy way to find it is to follow the cooler lines from the passenger side of the tranny to the front of the truck.
