That was back in Nashville... I moved to Knoxville shortly thereafter. lol
Actually, my neighbors were watching and hooting. You can hear two of them in the background after we were done, shouting "Yeah".

I wish my old neighbors were like that lol. We have a city noise ordinance of 81 db and anytime I would start mine they would call the cops on me. Got one noise ordinance ticket(thrown out because it was tested and not a violation) and got pulled over twice just for driving it around the block even though I never got it over 2,000 rpm..... The cops would always tell me that they HAD to respond because they got the call, but they knew I wasn't doing anything wrong.
So here's what I did nothing special but I like it

Not REALLY into burnouts (with 800 lbft on tap, could if I wanted )
but I am REALLY into the supercharger whine on an L ,
my nephew rewarded himself after his 3rd tour in Iraq with an L....
changed pulleys and all the tricks and it whined SO nice !!!
but I could still get him with a 4x4 boosted launch !!!
(for about 20 ft ! and b4 he got his drag slicks and )
To the OP.... line lock is the way to go. Keeps you from detonating the rear end...or transmission. Can't tell ya how many gear set's I have watched snap when people are power breaking their ride...just to do a burnout.
I ran the Hurst line lock when I was drag racing...and it never failed me.
My opinion is that for almost all purposes power braking is a waste of time and is just stupid. It just increases the chances of tearing up your ride for no reason. If you want to roast your tires then just to so from a dead stop or around a corner.
Just about any car can power brake. It doesn't prove anything. When I was in highschool, my old 89 Mustang LX 2.3 automatic could roast a tire that way.
Using a line lock at the strip to heat the tires is one thing, but thats about it.
That head to head burnout looks cool, but there is no way I would ever do that.
