It does look that way in the picture but in actuality it is not. I will try to get another pic from the side uploaded.

For a fee the installer could have made a custom frame to remove the side spaces but i didnt really care for it.

i am curious to see how your head unit holds up. 12 years ago I would have not bought anything without a brand name on it like alpine, kenwood, or pioneer, etc. but now that everything is made in china it seems that these lesser known brands such as lanzer, phase linear, planet audio, power acoustik, etc. are the same quality as the expensive ones. I have still yet to try one but i think my next head unit i might have to give it a shot. so keep us updated on how you like this new unit
