Hey ya'll just wondering if i can get some help from some ford lovers like myself? My truck has been having issues and just had a brand new motor put in it. I just got it back from the shop and now when even sitting in the driveway it squeaks when the tires are turned i have tried just about everything i can think of! Anything can help and thanks for the input!
Going to need a better description...ie. where is the sound coming from. When my ball joints were shot it made the most aweful sound standing still while turning the wheel. Is this a sound from the engine or just from the front end or what?
It is a 1999 F-250 Superduty, This sound is coming from the front end only it sounds like it is coming from the tie rod ending on the passanger side but i have replaced all of that and its still making the noise. It almost sounds like something is just out of grease but everything was just toped off so im just stumped thanks for your help guys!
Is your belt slipping.
Just a heads up. If you are not moving and turning the wheel your stressing your steering system. Have you never driven a car with arm strong steering.
What all did you replace? Just tie rod links or were the ball joints, all 4, replaced? If you still have some stock ball joints in there that is my guess. When mine started to go it sounded bad and I thought maybe just some grease on the tie rods....did nothing. Replaced all 4 ball joints and good as new, no more nasty sound when turning.
And just as a side note, when I jacked up the front end to hear the sound it wouldn't make it - only when grounded.
hey thanks guys much appereaciated; replace both tie rod ends and ball joints all 4 of them and its still having troubles not near as bad as it was but still doesnt sound good. Zedrive the belt is doing good no slipping.
