ICP Sensor Cost
Gentlemen,
After my X died yesterday, I was searching for the ICP Sensor. This morning I called Ford and they wanted $177.00 for it. Called IH for the same part and it was $48.00.
Does Ford have gold flakes in the plastic bag?

The price from Ford seems normal. IH wasn't much cheaper for me though. I don't remember the actual price but I think it was in the $140 range. I am not sure what IH is quoting you but I doubt they looked up the correct part number. You should double check their price.
By the way, your engine should run with the sensor unplugged (at least mine did). I am not sure a bad ICP will kill the engine. Did you retrieve any codes or something else to make you suspect the ICP sensor? My sensor was leaking oil but was still working (didn't even throw a code...)
