It is the cheap and easy mod to keep your UVCH, (Under Valve Cover Harness), from coming apart causing "no fire" in the injectors.
You take a quarter and grind down one edge just a touch. This will allow it to fit under the little tab in the connector at the top side of both valve covers. The "catch tab" has a tendency to not stay in the utmost "up" position and with engine vibration, the harness will literally unplug itself. So two quarters, one for each side = 50 cents.
I know there is a link somewhere of a step by step with pics but I am sure someone else will post it on here soon.
the fifty cent mod is grinding down 2 quarters, one for each side, and using them to hold the undervalve cover wiring harness in place. Ford also sells a set of plastic chims that will do the same thing, its just cheaper to grind down real money, lol
The .50 mod is done underneath each valve cover on the gasket where the harness plugs in.The harness is known to come un-clppied and you start getting eratic behavior out of the motor. You can grind the head down on Washington and slip it in the connector so it will not work loose again. There are pictures but I do not have them here.
