Yeah...
My truck most likely had one from the factory, I wouldn't mind havin' one, But, I'm not really into campers, so There's really no need for it...
OMG! Why would you box up and gulp! Sell an option so rare that even Fordification doesn't have much more than a picture of it? Do a Marti's report on the truck. I bet you have one of less than maybe 10 of those generator equipped trucks made that year. You could be in possession of a very rare truck indeed. At least send some information and pictures to Fordification so they can update their information database about them. They have been trying to get info on that option for quite some time.
The Marti's report cost about a hundred bucks and takes about a month to get. The guy is in Arizona and has exclusive rights to Fords historic sales and production records database dating back to the 30's. I've had every Ford I have documented by Marti's Auto. 1970 F250 4x4 , 1964 V8/4spd ranchero, 67 Scode Gt Mustang Fastback, 77 F150 Stepside 4x4. It was worth every penny just to know the historic background on the vehicles.
My 1970 came back from Marti's as 1 of 12 built that year. I had no idea when I bought it. F250 Highboy, 360, NP435, 3500lb HD dana 44 front 2000 lb HD dana 60 rear, Sport Custom with air, bucket seats and new lime paint. I am almost done restoring the truck. Just rebuilt the 501 service block, the only thing that's not original. All that's left is the interior. I have a bench seat in it until I finish restoring the buckets.
If you do decide to sell it (God forbid) you'll need to sell the inner fender with it or the buyer won't be able to install it. Bet you could name your price and it would sell.
thats cool...never ever heard of this option before...this is the first time ive ever even seen something like this...must be really rare...now i know what to look for when i buy a truck lol.
