Whats the differance between the sealed beam and composite? How do I know which one I got in my 99 f250? I ask because I am looking to upgrade..
Sealed beam refers to the glass complete headlamps that are replaced as a unit when the filament burns out. The composites are the "aero" style headlamp housings that have replaceable bulbs. All but the XL series Superduty trucks had the composite lamps.

Thanks I appreciate the help, Mine is a Lariat and from what you are saying I am sure I have the composite.. I know what you are saying but I thought they did away with that in the 80's......

XL's up through at least 2010 are still available with the sealed beams. I'm pretty sure it's the work truck packages only,as it's a corporate money savings thing for fleet trucks.
