I have an 04 Excursion 6.0 and it died pulling into the driveway. I tried to follow the no start folder guidelines. It's not throwing any codes. I got the auto enginuity and checked the HPOP pressure and it builds to 1000 psi+ while cranking. I checked fuel pressure and it's good 47 psi. The CKP CMP are in SYNC. FICM voltages look okay. It cranks and doesn't even try to start. Any suggestions on what to look for or am I overlooking something?
I checked for codes though the AutoEnginuity and it didn't list any. Batteries are strong enough to turn it over easily. The ICP is reading 1070 psi while cranking. The FICM volatage is 48.5 volts. The FICM L M are both 12 volts. CKP CMP are in SYNC while cranking along with the FICM. I checked the fuel pressure at the secondary filter housing and it's reading 50 psi. It will every once in awhile try to start and run for a couple seconds and then just dies again. When it does run for those couple seconds, I get a lot of white looking smoke coming from the tailpipe.
Remove the top from the engine fuel filter and verify it has not colapsed or is twisted or crushed. That will shut off or restrict fuel flow to the motor. The fuel pressure you are reading is before the filter.
The smoke is more like fog coming out of the tailpipe so I am going to assume it's fuel. It only happens after the truck tries to run, if it just cranks nothing comes out. I pulled the filter housing top off and everything looked good, no crushed filter, fuel looked good too.
