SOURCE FOR PISTON RINGS NEEDED
SOURCE FOR PISTON RINGS NEEDED
Going to re ring the 97 psd and could use some advice for the best kind & price on a budget build.#7 cylinder has no compression and the rest are between 100&180 psi. Also could I get away with leaveing the heads on and honeing from the bottom end with crank out?
Wow, those numbers are low. Are you looking for mail order parts or someplace local to pick up new rings?
For you to have 0 compression on #7, I'm guessing you have more than a ring issue. If you put a little oil in the piston before you do the compression test do your numbers look a lot better?

The numbers are so low ,now i'm wondering if the gauge is bad or miscalibrated as it is new. Didnt drop oil into cyl ,ist test was with gp's out and did # 7 cyl with gp in &out ,no psi, pulled pushrods and they are nice and straight.Any thoughts?
How are you testing compression with the glow plug in? Most use an adapter and put the gauge on the glow plug hole then crank the engine. I'd try to get better readings from the compression test before proceeding.
