17* going in hose question

I got my 17* pump today and I've got the gasket, orings, and ipr orings. Are the hoses a direct hookup? Anything special I need or can I just take the old off and put the new on? It's off of an 02 SD.

I want to put it on tomorrow, if I don't need anything else.

Can I remove the old one and install the new in one day?? Just wondering what the time involved is. Can't have the truck down long this time of year.

One more question, I don't take my hpx line off now do I? Just checkin'.

Thanks again.

Alright, I went over to the shop, shoved a couple cars out of the way, and got my truck in there. He's just begging for the pump so I moved him in.

Any advice or I'm just gonna tear into him tomorrow. Can't have him down long so warn me if need be.

Should just be a direct swap you can do in one afternoon. Leave the HPX line. It's still a good thing.

when you put your 17* pump in did you use the hoses that came off of your 15* pump and just thread them into the new pump or did you use the hoses that came with the 17*? i just bought a used sd pump and im not sure whether to use the old or new lines or if they are even different, but it looks like the ones that came with it attach at different plugs on the oil rails???

Use the old lines. You will have to swap the fittings on the pump but that is all. Don't even break the lines loose on the engine side.
