check your fuses first, if they are ok, then it is probably the module. Is located on the left fender next to the firewall. it is a square with a cable running to the tb. I picked up one at the local pull a part for $14 and it works like new. They came on Crown Vic's, Town Cars as well, you will just have to change the cable if you get one that did not come on a truck. it is easy.

There are lots of reasons your Cruise Control may not be working. There are switches on your clutch, brake to turn off your cruise when you hit either pedal. One of these could be bad.
Ford issued a recall on your truck for a defective Cruise Control (could cause fires) and didn't have repair parts so they unplugged several thousand of them.
Fuses?
You can of course throw parts at it if you prefer.
