changing oil

Does anyone know how many quarts of oil go in a flathead 8 is it 5 or 6 with the filter changed too.

My Operator Manual says that the oil pan capacity is 5 quarts.

If you change your oil and the filter, put 5 quarts in it, run it and check the level if it's low, add some!

Fill the filter(as much as possible) before you install it!!!

Oil change went ok with still 40# of pressure. Makes me feel like a king when things work out the way they a intended to.
