I installed a new drivers side window regulator on my 67 (and yes I got the 'correct' one for 67).
Now when I try to roll up the window, the glass sort of flops backward a bit and jams.
I don't think it did that before, but the old regulator was really worn, so it's tough to say.
If I buy new anti-rattlers, will that hold the window in place as it goes up? Or do I need the 'roller track' thingy that attaches to the bottom of the glass?
I'm interested in hearing any advice too. The driver's window in my '67 F100 does the same thing. I haven't gotten around to trying to fix it yet, but it's annoying. It's like there's too much front-to-back clearance around the glass, so it can get crooked in the tracks and jam.
Is there an adjustment for the tracks? Or do the liners for the tracks need to be replaced?
Update: so I took it all apart and tried putting a washer behind the rear track. All that did was make it really tight and hard to wind (and it still rocked backward).
Upon further reflection, it appears that the bracket that holds the bottom of the front track is weak and bends forward when the window is winding up. By bending forward it allows the window to rock back...
So I guess I'm going to have to order some parts...

On the end of the regulator is a stud. This stud is where the nylon windowroller attaches by way of a clip, then the roller fits into the glass channel.
When the nylon roller cracks, the window either jambs up, or falls down to the bottom of the door.
This was a very common problem at one time.
The roller did not come with the regulator, it was sold separately.

DJ,
There is an adjustment down below on anti rattle bar. There is a nut with an allen screw. Also if you go to Dennis Carpenters site there is an illustration on R/R door windows.
