2003 Ranger Steering Problem
Had to have my 03 Ranger 2 WD towed the other day. Tow driver hooked it from the rear, had the keys in the ignition, and looked to have done the job correctly. However, today with the truck in gear, and moving at very low speeds, a vibration can be felt and a noise heard when turning the vehicle in either direction. At slightly higher speeds there is no problem and with the truck in park and the wheel turned, no problem. Anybody had any problems like this or have an idea what the cause is??

You have air in the power steering system. it happens when the wheel is turned while the truck is off. The system is suppose to bleed itself but sometimes it needs help. Make sure you have atf in the pump. the easiest way is to go to a big parking lot and do slow figure 8's. Doing this you have to turn the wheel all the way in each direction which is how it self bleeds... if this does not work do a search and there are other methods. the reservoir must be filled at all times or it will not work.

Powersmoked - You hit it right on the head. Went out and just kept making turns and the problem is solved. Never heard that one before and I guess I still learn something new every day. Thanks Again.
