I need the push rod, spring and if theres a retainer, that too...... its for a 1997 f450 hydroboost. its the rod between the hydroboost and master cylinder. cant find anything out there. got everything i need but that. i dont wanna buy the whole unit though ford just for the damn push rod. $50 for anyone who can find it and ship it. price includes shipping. should only be like $6 or so. i want it priority mail. i need it asap. if anyone wants to text to get a message to me faster. thanks
Lemme guess, you got a reman hydroboost from a parts store and it didn't come with the plunger and spring and star-retainer? I really dunno why rebuilders are always leaving those off, it ain't like they're wear items. A guy on the FSC board just went through that mess last fall, luckily for him I had a spare setup from a little project I was messing with a while back - this was a Chevy setup tho, never had any Ford parts cause I run Chevy booster in my own truck, besides I never seem to find F-Superduty trucks in the junkyards...
that's exactly my issue lcam.
and hagen, if you found a way to get that part to me by wednesday I'd gladly pay the extra $25. Or if someone sends me theirs and they can get the new one and have an extra 25 for their trouble!
what do ya use (least costly) for the rear disc brake conversion?
what would those required to have an e-brake for inspections do?
that would be a nice mod.
The superduty's have an e-brake on the rear of the tranny instead of at the rear wheels. The Superduty I have to chop has rear disc brakes, I've debated whether to bother taking the parts off, but even if I do, I can't forsee using them on anything myself.

what year is that? My dads 02 and my work 99 both have the e brake on the rear axle. It's inside the hub of the rear disk.
I believe they are referring to the F-Super Duty (F450), as in up to '97. Not the 99 and up Super Duty.

Yes, the earlier superduty. My '01 Superduty also has the drum e-brake on the rear axle. Personally I hate it, since the poor design of the rear brakes means I've had to replace rear rotors almost every time I've replaced rear pads, and with that rotor/drum combination, they are expensive to replace!
well, they changed their prices. 50 for the rod. 25 for the spring and 10 or 15 for the keeper. Was 107 including shipping. Coms out to 260 including the hydroboost unit. Not bad since ford is 380 plus tax. Save 100.....
