Truck started leaking oil out of my dipstick and was wondering how hard it is to fix it, does the oil pan have to be pulled out it is leaking out of what looks to be the like a big nut and if the pan does have to be pulled do i have to pull the front end out off, the truck is a 1995 F-250 4x4 model also is there anything else i should look for or do if i have to go with pulling the pan out

Thanks for the link but i think i got lucky on this one. The nut the holds the due-hicky that holds the dipstick was about three revolutions loose so i tightened it up and put a bead of silicone around it. Lost about a quart of oil so i will have to pick up some tomorrow and see but no leaks so far

if you got 3 revolutions on it then i'd bet you will be ok for awhile. this problem WILL come back eventually though. unfortunately it's a flaw on these trucks. no way to know how long it will be before it comes back though. the o-ring on the inside is just a sucky design and eventually fails on all these trucks. i guess it's ok since it lasts around 15 years for most of us, but just sucks to fix. hope yours continues to not leak for a long time!!!
