Since you dont know what kind of coolant it has, test it first. If the test is negative then I would flush it. If you add SCA's to regular coolant it can gel up. You need low silicate coolant to work with the SCA's. It has been mentioned that NAPA sells a compatable coolant. I went down to a cummins dealer/repair facility and got 8 gallons of there 50/50 Fleetguard coolant(I got it at cost since they were out of concentrate) with the SCA's already added. If you dont have a cavitation issue now, getting the coolant up to par(and keeping it there) will stop it from happening.

its not that common.it's not one of those things to loose sleep over.
in most cases, these rigs ware out and are passed on owner to owner on the original engine.
the truck should fall right apart around the diesel.
relax and enjoy the ride.

when i went to pick up my used fuel tank at the local yard a week or so ago,the owner told me to keep in mind, that he has a 7.3l with a turbo in excellent shape for $1500 bucks.
i thought great and left, then i got to thinking......there's no way in hell i would ever need it before that thing is long, long sold lmao.
i did ask him if he'd sell the turbo tho lol.....nope of course.

'94,do a search around here for a thread thats,i think started by ididieseljohn, called "how many miles do you have on your idi" or something.
you'll soon see,the diesel engine is likely not one of your main concerns with your truck lol.
