Hey guy, anybody got a bed mounted spare tire rigged up? I'm carrying mine around in the bed but its holding leaves. I took the old gas tack mount out because water and clay just stay and rust my gas tank which is something i don't need happening. So if anybody has and bed mounted spares with pics it would be much help. Thanks guys
Here are a couple of pic's.
The first one is the mount itself, a PO moved it from the original location at the front of the bed to the rear.
The second pic is where the mount was originaly located.
I took this one off and gave it to a fellow FTE member.
It wasn't a very common option, I've only seen a few of them over the years.
Maybe someone out there knows where one is.
Yea from what i read it wasn't common. And the drive would be pretty long. I live in south Georgia. About 5 minutes from florida if u know back roads so it'd be a long drive

Isn't the factory location on the Driver's side behind the cab and not the passenger side?
And I believe the Bumpsides had their bed mounted spares located in the rear of the bed, driver's side.
Yea, lmc has em but my rims are too big, but i can weld and fabricate, so i think i'll just look around and come up with some ideas
If you can weld/fabricate something like this should be VERY easy to do. Just quickly thinking about it I could do it with 2 short pieces of angle iron, a tube or flat stock plate for the vertical and then a large nut/bolt and a over-sized fender type washer for the hold down.

REALLY good idea. This thread has gotten me interested in something similar, but not sure if the LMC (or even Ford part if I could find it) would work for my rims...and looking at the item, it does seem easy and customizable. And cheap Plus with the tire in place you won't really even see the bracket behind the tire, so doesn't matter much what it looks like.
