Umm, well the block does have a hole on top of it. Its just a nipple that fits into the top of the overload leaf.
Also that would mean i would have to torch or cut the old bolt just to get it out. An once i did get the old bolt out i wouldnt have a way to get the new one in because where the pin sits the metal is welded to axle.
The CENTERING bolt through the leafs MUST fit into the alignment hole in the block, The block MUST have an alignment pin that fits into the perch welded to the axle tube. PERIOD!
If you have an overload thats NOT part of the spring pack and prevents all alignment pins to properly seat into their respective bores then TOSS IT or Include it into the spring pack by cutting and replacing the spring pack centering bolt.
Any other arrangement will fail and possibly kill people!
Cut out the old pin thats sitting in the lift block,
Make sure the little button or pin side of the lift block goes into the perch welded on axle tube,
Get a bolt and put it through the leafs with the extra bit going down into the hole of the block?
The lift block should have a hole on one side and a tit (pin) on the other ...
The tit goes into the hole in the axle perch and the leaf center bolt/pin goes into the hole on the block.
The block is also tapered (or should be), make sure you get them orientated correctly...
Yeah, thats mainly how i got all this messed up i think.
Because we didnt realize that since we left the old pin in the perch in. So we put the block upside down and had to drill the hole larger on the overload leaf so the tit of the block would fit in it.
Boy those overload leafs are tough as hell, went through 3 bits!
Yea, its that bolt. But because we took the nut off and the only way to take out the centering bolt is to cut it we figured we just had to put the block on the wrong way. Which made us have to innovate and drill the hole larger.
Since you have already taken off the center pin, and taken apart the spring pack, I would just go with an add a leaf, unless the springs are now ruined.
