By all means let's get some mods going on under your hood. 1997F-350, me, and the other guys are ready and willing to help spend YOUR money, Crash. Just ask us, we'll spend it good and proper for you.
welcome to FTE. FTE is a great forum and is full of information and great people . i agree with the other guys, lets see some pics of your ride and any mods you may already have. if no mods we can DEFINITELY help you out with that problem and don't worry we spend other guys money wisely... LoL
Well guys,my ole truck has been through some changes in the last week. I removed the 4" front springs and the 5" rear.I need to get the comfort back in the ride. The ole truck is a 1997 F-350 crewcab 4x4 longbed srw 5-speed PSD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has an ORU reverse shackle kit.Rickson Truck Eliminators on 285 x 19.5 Michelin tires. K&N filter. Edge Evolution Programer. A-piliar egt gauge & boost gauge. As for the pictures it'll be a while I'm not real good at up loading them.
sorry to tell ya about this so soon in the game, but you have 2 bad pieces of equipment on that truck. is the K&N a cool air intake? get rid of the K&N and put on a Napa 6637 filter and i haven't heard any good words about an edge evolution on a psd, i would get rid of it and get a chip from dp-tuner or tony wildman. they have awesome programming for our trucks!!!

Ditto. Check your fuel pressure at the FPR. If it's low, you can shim it with a BB.

well in the spirit of low cost mods... do the 10k mod as well. go to radioshack and get a pack of 10k ohm resistor and a pack of 5.6k ohm resistors. solder a 10k and a 5.6k resistor together and do the mod the way it's showed the following link...
The K&N is the drop in style. I haven't had any problems with the Edge to date; but I guess anything can happen. I know ya'll fellas make alot of hp just by what I've read on here. Thanks alot for any advice.
with the 6637 air filter all you gotta do is take out your stock air box, and put the 6637 in where your old box was. i can't remember if you need a short piece of 4" exhaust pipe or not, but i don't think you do. it shoul go right on there. then wallah... you got a cool air intake for a total cost of 40-50 bucks. your turbo will sound MUCH better.
Welcome to FTE. As you can see these guys are more than willing to help you spend your $$. But they are tring to save you some too. The stock air box is just as much trouble as the K&N. You should get rid of both...your turbo will like it, along with your wallet. They are both known to dust turbos due to leaking dirt into the intake.
The edge programmer is OK but for the same amount of $ you can get a lot more power out of a custom burned chip. That's my 2 cents and I'm stickin to it.
Crash,I've been here for a couple of months my advice is listen to what these guys say they are SHARP!!! Welcome and enjoy-this is a site full of info. Another thing these guys won't steer you wrong. Crewcab 5spd kinda rare keep her up-cool...
