51 windshield
The next thing I can help you with is to let you know that the windshield bright moulding that I believe you're talking about, was optional on 1951 and 1952 Ford trucks and is not chrome, but stainless steel. And not a very high grade of stainless, either. They are only available used, and come up from time to time on eBay. Be prepared to have a big checkbook, if you want a nice one.

The trim rings come up on E-bay from time to time - average about one every 6 months or so. Mine was NOS and I paid $350 for it. The last one that sold had a few dings and went for $175 a couple of months ago!
You might try sending an e-mail to "51 PanelMan." His name is Ilya, and something in the back of my mind says he may have one for sale - not sure though.
If you are going to get one, they are a little bit of a pain to install and must be put on the seal before it is installed.
I would strongly recommend you spend the $90 it would cost to have a glass shop install it with the seal. The trim is soft, hollow, Chromium based stainless steal (as Wayne mentioned) and will bend VERY easily.

As long as your going to grade the spelling of Fred's post I figured I might as well point out that you missed a word that was mis-spelled "Widshield"
has an "n" in it.
Our FTE family is always looking out for each other and offering help in any way we can, so this concludes your spelling lesson for today. Next!

I have an extra one that I am not sure I'll be using any time soon, and yes they are not cheap as mentioned above.
I'll let it go for what I paid for it if your interested give me a call 801-694-8826

At one time, I had four of them. A few months ago sold one on Ebay. Didn't bring the big bucks I was expecting. Top bid was $197.50. This one had a few dings in it, though, and was the worse one out of all four. This goes to show how the economy has hurt our hobby. Before, these would sell for well over $200 no matter the condition.
I'm down to three now. I'm keeping two for my trucks. That means I have one left if anyone is interested, including arrowheadfred.
