Yes and yes.

If you don't want to drill through your cab, you're SOL. Unless you glue that bad boy to the cab haha. Some Permatex 2-part epoxy would hold it probably, but you'd have to hold the amp to let it set.

I sucked up and drilled my cab. Didn't touch the bed, but definitely should've gotten shorter self-tapping screws than what I used. But hey it's on and since i don't hit the bed I probably won't mess with them.

Click to see what I did.

Well I didn't put mine under the seat, it's BEHIND the seat

If you can't put it behind the seat, and can't put it under the seat, I guess you gotta nail that thing to the roof or go ampless haha.

I put a piece of 1/2 or 3/4" plywood between the carpet and the metal on the back of the cab and mounted my amp to that, through the carpet. The plywood was held in place by the carpet and the carpet trim, pretty securely.

Shoot I'll run outside and check....they are #12 x 1.5"s. So yea, bought those to bolt my toolbox to the bed, and didn't feel like buying shorter ones haha. My truck's a stick also sir. 4-speed, but I ain't that tall. Soon as I wired everything up I killed the alt I bought the truck with, so I replaced that and I've been good since.

The sub isn't what I'm used to. But it's much better than nothing at all, so I'll probably replace it or just add a second 10 later.

I would just find an amp that will fit under the seat.

I'm not drilling holes in the back of my cab for an amp that may not always be there and then again for a new amp that won't use the same holes.

depends where you are getting them. i personally had a sony xplod 1200 watt amp, paid 180 for it new, burnt out in 8 months, now for my new setup i have found a new sight, everything is brand new factory sealed, just a heck of a lot cheaper ( except the head units, i dont like their selection) but for subs, boxes and amps they are great, not to sound like a salesman but the website is

Car Audio, Car Stereos, Car Audio Amplifiers, Car Audio Subwoofers, Car Stereo Speakers, Car Audio Stereo Accessories

give ya another option to ponder anyways

If you don't want to epoxy the amp itself, which I wouldn't do either, you could fab a mounting base and epoxy that to the cab.

3M 8115 - 3M Automix Panel Bonding Adhesive - Overview - SummitRacing.com use that and bond some aluminum or steel square tubing or what ever u have to the back wall on the cab

then screw the amp to that.... then u have no holes going threw the cab
