I am changing out the vent window frame, but cannot get it out the door panel. Is there a trick to getting it out without standing on your head? I have removed the window, and the track, so the only thing I have to move is the bar that raises the window, when connected. Any suggestions would be great.
did you remove the 3 small phillps head screws in the frame of the door? and the 2 on top of the frame? (they are by the door rubber around the edge) think there is one in the door panel that holds the division bar in place also...
there is a wide spot in the track opening that the spring on the bottom of the vent window has to go through as well
I did remove the 2 screws, it is the division bar with all the attachments that is eating my lunch, I haven't even thought about the actual vent window coming out yet. I have a new division bar to put in to.
I did a write up on removing & installing the window components; its in my CP file; I'm not smart enough to place it on this post. But maybe you can pull it up.
Here's a basic step of removal of the Division Bar (DB).
Remove the window regualtor first, makes removal of the DB easier, DB are a tight fit to remove thru the access panel hole. rotate the DB 180 degrees to remove ( turn the lower mounting bracket that bolts to the top of the regulator towards the outside door skin during removal & about 45 degree angle remove the DB out thru the access panel hole. Additional ensure the door glass is down in the door and not attached.
